Studio Ashby takes on the iconic Bluecoat National Trust Building as their Architecture and Design Studio.
A stone’s throw from St James’s Park, nestled in a rare skyscraper-less clearing on Caxton street in Victoria sits the Blewcoat School and the new home to Studio Ashby and Sister by Studio Ashby. Built in 1709 as a school for the underprivileged, it’s today owned by the National Trust and new Landlord to Studio Ashby. A magnificent, elegant, Grade I listed building and we consider it our great honour to borrow it for our next chapter.
Studio Ashby instructed Stephen Kane & Company to advise on the acquisition of the stunning Blewcoat Building. As a National Trust owned building and Grade I listed status, there were a number of different moving parts to consider in acquiring this exquisite piece of architecture.
