Stephen Kane & Company is one of London’s longest established niche retail and leisure real estate advisory practices with over 150 years of combined specialist experience.

Formed in 1992 as retail and leisure property specialists, our team has built up considerable experience from our offices in the heart of the West End of London and has evolved into a multi-disciplined firm, regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

We are proud to be one of the few remaining independent niche practices and are acknowledged throughout the industry for our integrity, professionalism and providing market leading advice. We pride ourselves on delivering a creative, personal and professional service which works in partnership to ensure the optimal result for our clients.

Meet the team

Stephen Kane

Owner & Founding Director
Stephen launched SK&Co in 1992 having previously been Managing Director of a firm with offices across the UK. Stephen specialises in providing corporate services and business strategy to clients, advising on all aspects of business and property and is one of the most respected and experienced property experts working in the industry.   Away from the office Stephen plays 5-a-side football and follows his local team Oxford United and Tottenham. He is known to be a demon BBQ chef!

Robin Burn

Senior Director
Robin is a founding member of SK&Co. Over the last 30 years, Robin has enjoyed a close working relationship with the Firm’s retained clients providing an intuitive, diligent and responsive approach to leading the L&T Team. Robin is an essential part of his retained client’s acquisition strategies across the UK helping to build growth in their businesses. A keen golfer, season ticket holder at Harlequins RFC & follower of West Ham Utd and often found on his bike.

George Brooke

Director
George has 15 years experience offering a tailored lease strategy service on retail and leisure agency instructions across London and the UK specialising in negotiating the acquisition and disposal of leasehold and freehold commercial property with his clients best interests at heart. An all round sportsman, having finally hung up the rugby boots, George loves being outside playing tennis, working on his golf handicap and participating in sporting charity events & following Spurs!

Jonathan Cowan

Director
Jonathan has worked at SK & Co for over 12 years having built up nearly 40 years’ experience working within retail agency and as an in-house property surveyor. Acting primarily in acquisition and disposal work for a number of retained retail and leisure clients across London and the UK.   JC, the office Geordie, is an "enthusiastic" golfer and footballer, and long suffering fan of Newcastle United. He likes nothing better than outdoor pursuits and eating Sushi on the weekends.

Tracy Edwards

Director
Tracy has been an invaluable member of SK&Co for over 30 years and has played a pivotal role in the success and growth of our organisation. Tracy is indispensable and loyal to the core and the engine at the centre of the business. She is known for her unwavering commitment to the firm and her contributions have significantly impacted our company's success. Outside of her professional achievements, Tracy enjoys music, dancing, spending time in the countryside with her family and her two Frenchies.

Charlie Hill

Rating Expert
Charlie has almost 30 years experience in matters of property taxation as a Business Rates advisor. Charlie heads up a number of client instructions and manages some of Stephen Kane & Companies retained client portfolio mandates.

Joel Fraser

Surveyor
Joel brings a unique perspective to the team, having recently transitioned from a career in sound engineering. His technical expertise and attention to detail make him a valuable asset in collecting data and analysing clients site requirements. His passion for problem-solving and commitment to delivering quality results aligns with the firm's values and mission. Joel is excited to continue learning and growing in his new role, bringing his diverse background and skill set to the commercial property industry. Family, music and football keep Joel busy outside the office!

Kristian Kendall

Director
Kristian is head of our landlord team having joined from Savills in 2022.  Kristian has a detailed knowledge of Central London gained from nearly 20 years experience and a broad skill set across leasing, repurposing and consultancy which allows him to offer comprehensive advice from purchase to sale. Kristian also advises across retail brand portfolios and is involved with the firm's portfolio of retail clients. In his free time Kristian is a reluctant runner and junior rugby coach at Tring RFC!

Peter Marshall

Rating Expert
Peter has valued a wide range of property classes for rating purposes throughout the UK specialising in alternative properties, such as landmark corporate headquarters, distribution centres, hotels, waterparks, tourist attractions, public houses, garden centres, restaurants and car showrooms managing significant portfolio mandates. Peter also advises clients on rates budgets, appeals and relief applications. In his spare time Peter follows his beloved Newcastle United.

Alex Robinson

Graduate Surveyor
Alex is the most recent member joining SK & Co in October 2023, having undertaken both a Human Geography degree at the University of Cardiff and a Real Estate masters at the University of Reading. Alex has gained experience working in both the Tenant leasing and L&T teams, with a focus on becoming RICS qualified in the coming two years. Big Al plays football like the rugby player he is.  Unfortunately for the office, Robbo supports Chelsea!  When not hacking the ball out the rough on the golf course or walking his dog, he can be found trying out the bars and restaurants London has to offer.

Ewan Stacey

Graduate Surveyor
Ewan recently joined SK & Co in June 2023, having undertaken both a Geography degree at the University of Exeter and a Real Estate masters at the University of Reading. Ewan has gained experience working in both the Landlord leasing and L&T teams, with a focus on becoming RICS qualified in the coming two years. A lover of all sports, Ewan is an avid football fan and can be found in the stands supporting his local football club Woking FC. He is planning to pick up his hockey stick and join a club once he moves to London.

Vlada Kaminska

Administrative Assistant
Vlada joined the business in 2023 and has become an important and valued assistant to Tracy. Vlada maintains an orderly control of the office and the property team providing a friendly welcoming face to all visitors. Away from the office, she likes the gym, travelling - having reached over 25 countries, practicing one of 5 fluent languages! She has worked with refugees from Africa and once tried windsurfing!
